Are All Jews to Blame for Jesus’ Crucifixion?

There are so-called “Christians” today that are still trumpeting this libel that dates back to the 4th century. It is an anti-semitic smear that is rooted in the unbiblical false doctrine of Replacement Theology (e.g. that the Church has replaced Israel in the covenants of God).

While this is not an exhaustive response to that question and many of the implications influencing it, here are some things to consider.

First, by reading the biblical gospels & Acts, we learn that it was many but NOT all of the Jewish religious leaders (scribes, Pharisees & Sadducees) in Jerusalem that were responsible for the false accusations, arrest, and religious trial of Jesus.

They were not ALL the Jews in Jerusalem, or Judea, or Perea, or Galilee, or Samaria, or even throughout the Roman empire.

In contrast, remember that ALL of Jesus’ first disciples (the twelve, 70, 120, 500, then 3000+ after Pentecost) were Jews. The entire early Church were Jews! And God has preserved a remnant of Jewish believers in the Church ever since.

Based on those facts alone, the answer is clearly NO. All Jews (of Jesus’ day) were NOT to blame for His crucifixion.

Next, the Jewish leaders at that time had no authority or power to crucify Jesus (see John 18:28-31). Judea had become a Roman province around A.D. 6 and capital punishment (death penalty) was the Roman Governor’s prerogative. That is why the Jewish leaders had to take Jesus to the Roman Pontius Pilate to request the death penalty. So, it was the Gentile Romans that actually crucified Jesus, the Jewish Messiah.

Third, the idea that all of the descendants of “those Jews” are all personally guilty of crucifying Jesus is absurd.

So, as the Apostle Paul so comprehensively explains in Romans chapters 1-3, everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Not a single one of us is righteous, whether Jew or Gentile.

The penalty for sin is death. Since we have all sinned, we ALL die, but not just physical death. According to God’s Word, there is a second death that is eternal torment in the lake of fire that no one can save themselves from by our own merit, no matter what. None of us can bribe a Holy and just God with our “good” actions, money, prayers, or anything else we have to get out of that death penalty.

But God, so loved EVERY human being that He has created, not wanting ANYONE to perish from the second death in the eternal lake of fire, sent His only begotten Son (who preexisted with Him as God) to become a sinless human being in order to take the punishment EVERY ONE of us deserved when He was crucified on that cross.

It is written that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin. The only acceptable blood atonement God would accept had to be from a SINLESS human being. So God became that SINLESS human being, a JEW from the JEWISH tribe of Judah & descendent of the JEWISH King David, kist as He prophesied by His JEWISH prophets beforehand… to die and rise from the dead first for the JEWS, and also for the non-JEWs.

Finally, anyone (JEW or GENTILE) who accepts the God of Israel’s gift exchanging our sin nature with Christ’s righteous nature through faith in Jesus’ atoning death & resurrection, receives entrance into the Kingdom of God under Christ Jesus’ authority, the indwelling & empowering Holy Spirit, resulting in eternal life instead of eternal torment in the lake of fire.

Anyone (JEW or GENTILE) who rejects Jesus’ atoning death & resurrection, remains condemned to that second death of eternal torment in the lake of fire.

So the next time anyone wants to point their finger at the Jews, or the modern nation of Israel, and try to condemn them for “crucifying Jesus” … remind them of this: “Let the one who is without sin, cast the first stone.”

She Who is in Labor

”Therefore Israel will be abandoned until she who is in labor has given birth; then the rest of His brothers will return to the children of Israel.“
‭‭Micah‬ ‭5‬:‭3‬ ‭BSB‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/3034/mic.5.3.BSB

“She who is in labor” is based on Isaiah 7:14 and prophesies forward to Luke 1:31-33, Matthew 1:18, and Luke 2:7.

It ALSO is the reference for Revelation 12:1-5

In Revelation, Mary is the embodiment of the nation of Israel during the time leading up to Christ Jesus’ return to establish the Kingdom of God on the Earth from Jerusalem.

Sarah and Elizabeth are also types of “she who is in labor” in that they were past child-bearing and had “dead wombs” and then, by a supernatural intervention of God, became pregnant.

This foreshadows the nation of Israel, being regathered from the four corners of the earth since 1948 and becoming “pregnant” with the hope for Messiah. The “birth” will be when the nation of Israel as a whole (what’s left of them at the end of the ‘time of Jacob’s trouble’ – the Seventieth Week of Daniel the prophet) cries out for the Deliverer, Yeshua the Messiah to save them when they all say: “Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the LORD.” Thus fulfilling Jesus’ prophecy recorded in Matthew 23:39.

”For I tell you that you will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’”“ Matthew 23:39 BSB

Do Disciples of Jesus the Messiah Have to Keep the Dietary Laws? – Commandments Regarding Food

Under the Old Covenant and the Law of Moses, God forbade the children of Israel from eating certain foods. First, Gentile Christians were never included in the Old Covenant or subject to the Law of Moses. Second, Jesus fulfilled the entire Law of Moses (all 613 commandments as a whole singular unit) and rendered it inoperative for anyone who puts their faith in His atoning death & resurrection as The Lamb of God (See Romans chapters 5, 6, & 10).

Under the New Covenant and the Law of Christ, God allows all foods to be eaten as long as the person’s conscience is clear about eating them. God also allows individuals to decide for themselves if they want to voluntarily refrain from certain foods for the benefit of others, or for their own conscience sake, but not to put a legalistic burden on others.

1 Timothy 4:4-5 “For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.”

Now someone might say something like: “So does that mean I can eat pot-laced brownies, or psychedelic mushrooms, etc?”

The answer is no and there is at least two other primary commandments under the Law of Christ and the New Covenant pertaining to that.

1Pe 2:15-16  “For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men—as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.”

Gal 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

The Greek word here for sorcery (also called witchcraft in some translations) is Pharmakeia.

What is Pharmakeia?

The use of mind-altering substances to induce an altered state of consciousness.

Why is it forbidden in both the Old & New Covenants?

It brings a person under the influence of demonic forces and a false spirituality that is fleshly, soulish, and carnal, and it inhibits their ability to reason allowing spiritual deception. It also brings a person into bondage to their flesh and those same demonic forces.

All of that is contrary to the work of the Holy Spirit. Our freedom in the New Covenant under the Law of Christ, led by the Holy Spirit does not give a person the license to justify sin.

Learn from Joseph – Store up Grain for the Famine

Amos 8:11 NKJV

““Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the Lord.”

https://bible.com/bible/114/amo.8.11.NKJV

Genesis 41:31 NKJV

“So the plenty will not be known in the land because of the famine following, for it will be very severe.”

https://bible.com/bible/114/gen.41.31.NKJV

Genesis 47:13 NKJV

“Now there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very severe, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan languished because of the famine.”

https://bible.com/bible/114/gen.47.13.NKJV

What did Joseph do when he knew there would be a famine?

⁃ He stored up grain in the storehouses

Genesis 41:35-36 NKJV

“And let them gather all the food of those good years that are coming, and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities. Then that food shall be as a reserve for the land for the seven years of famine which shall be in the land of Egypt, that the land may not perish during the famine.””

https://bible.com/bible/114/gen.41.35-36.NKJV

Genesis 41:49 NKJV

“Joseph gathered very much grain, as the sand of the sea, until he stopped counting, for it was immeasurable.”

https://bible.com/bible/114/gen.41.49.NKJV

What can we learn from Joseph?

⁃ since we know according to God’s Word that there is a famine of the Word of God coming, we need to store up the Word of God in the storehouses.

⁃ What are the storehouses? We are: our minds & hearts are where we store up the Word of God (grain, bread)

– The grain (Word of God stored in our hearts & minds) will not only sustain us during the famine for the Word of God, but we will be able to distribute that Word to others just as Joseph did, and just as Jesus had His disciples do.

Jesus fed the people in the wilderness. He distributed the bread through His disciples.

Matthew 15:33-37 NKJV

“Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?” Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.” So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left.”

Correct Doctrine Matters More Than You Think

Before Paul talks about persecution in his letter to Timothy, he first talks about DOCTRINE. If the doctrine is wrong, the rest doesn’t matter. Without proper scriptural doctrine, people will be deceived and deceive, and grow worse and worse (2 Timothy).

2 Timothy 10

“But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

II Timothy 3:10-17 NKJV
